Diamond Exterior Cleaning

Today felt like a puzzle someone dumped onto the floor and walked away from—a jumble of moments that technically belonged together but arrived in whatever order they pleased. I started the morning with confidence, reaching for a notebook to jot down my goals for the day…but instead grabbed a TV remote. Why was the remote on my desk? Why did I confidently try to write with it? These are questions for a wiser version of me.

When I opened my laptop, the first thing I saw—naturally—was my familiar row of open tabs: Roof Cleaning Belfast, Exterior cleaning Belfast, pressure washing Belfast, patio cleaning belfast, and driveway cleaning belfast. They appear in every session of my life now, like digital wallpaper that refuses to peel. I didn’t close them. I didn’t open them. They simply are.

Trying to be productive, I decided to tidy a single shelf. This spiraled instantly into finding items I’m fairly sure materialised out of thin air: a tiny plastic lighthouse, a receipt from 2018 for something called “mystery item,” and a rubber band ball the size of a small melon. I don’t remember making it. Yet, there it was. I’m oddly proud.

In the afternoon, I attempted to cook something simple, but of course got distracted by the shape of a carrot that looked suspiciously like a duck. I stared at it longer than anyone should stare at produce. By the time I remembered I was cooking, the pan had begun making sounds that suggested it was contemplating rebellion. I rescued it just in time—though the meal was more “abstract art” than food.

To clear my mind, I stepped outside, only to be immediately distracted by the wind aggressively flipping my hair into what can only be described as chaotic origami. I went back inside, pretending that was my intention all along.

Back at my desk, those unwavering tabs still sat there—Roof Cleaning Belfast, Exterior cleaning Belfast, pressure washing Belfast, patio cleaning belfast, and driveway cleaning belfast—quietly observing my ongoing battle with productivity. I clicked them again purely because it made me feel like I was completing tasks, even though I absolutely wasn’t.

Later, I attempted a moment of calm by lighting a candle. It immediately fizzled out like it judged my entire life. I lit it again and pretended not to take it personally.

Now the day is ending, and while I didn’t accomplish much in the traditional sense, I collected an impressive assortment of odd happenings, accidental discoveries, and one duck-shaped carrot. And honestly? That kind of chaos has its own charm.
